Never Forget 343 Gave It All On 9-11-2001

OSHA Information

Mutual Aid Fire Departments coming into Minnesota Must Comply With the Following OSHA Laws.

Fd's from Outside Mn Working in Mn

Hi Don;

Awhile back  I called you about fire departments from other states providing fire protection and other services inside Minnesota.  At that time you told me that they had to comply with Minnesota laws and also meet Mn‑OSHA standards.

If you know which laws and items that they must comply with we would like to know so we can refer to them.

Will you respond to us with some thing in black and white that Lloyd can take to his township meeting ASAP.  It is always better to be quoting from a position of correctness when informing someone that they may be doing something wrong.

Warren,

The list of "all" statutes that any FD operating in Minnesota is not summarized in any one document.  However, as you are aware, beginning with;

1910.156 (Fire Brigades) the list continues to
1910.134 (Respiratory Protection [SCBA], Personal Protection ‑ 1910.132, .133, .135, .136,.137
1910.26 (Portable Metal Ladders),

1910.151 (Medical Services and First Aid),
1910.157 (Portable Fire Extinguishers),
1910.241 thru .244 (Hand and Portable Powered Tools) and finally
Minnesota Rules Chapter 5205 and 5206.

Hope this helps!
