Blended e-Learning Education

Minnesota State Colleges and Universities

This program does not replace your training officer or instructor .... this program will enhance your training!

  • Blended e-Learning takes advantage of the strengths of both the traditional classroom and the cutting edge, interactive technology of e-learning.  It provides dynamic, computer-based, interactive training directly to students 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, when and where they choose, thus accommodating demanding schedules.

  • Blended e-Learning uses focused classroom sessions for technology orientation and for hands-on skills training and testing.

e-Learning – How it Works

  • Students are oriented on how courseware technology and classroom sessions work together.

  • Using Web-ROMs (Internet-connected CD-ROMs), students train at a time and place they choose 24/7, from any basically equipped computer connected to the internet.

  • Students train in a resource-rich, multimedia environment using audio, video, scenarios, aiamations, virtual reality, quizzes, and even a “game show” to increase learning and content retention.

  • Students follow clearly structured course modules and complete every learning exercise before advancing.

  • Mastery of subject matter is reinforced and verified using knowledge checks and challenge reviews embedded in each module.

  • Students’ personal training records are stored and tracked real-time and may be accessed online 24/7.

Classroom Skills Sessions – How They Work

  • Classroom sessions may be held at the college or onsite.

  • Responders come to class “read to go”, having already learned the subject matter.

  • State-certified instructors reinforce key e-learning material during intensive, hands-on sessions.

  • Instructors ensure that students master both the knowledge and skills needed to be compliance-trained practitioners.

  • Students are able to interact with instructors and other students face to face.

  • Students experience hands-on training using the actual equipment they will use as emergency responders.

  • Fewer but more focused classroom sessions ensure the most efficient use of responders’ time.

The Results – Blended e-Learning
